Mark Lester

“Ambiguity is one of the greatest faults in a craft, it comes from vague ambitions.  One may be inspired by good ambitions, but the immediate concern of the craftsman is to know what he is capable of doing at present and to do it.”

- Edward Johnson

I am Mark Lester and I am 64 years old.  I have been incarcerated 18 years for murder. I have been drawing most of my life but have just recently have been able to draw portraits.  I am self taught.  I used the stippling method because it teaches me to focus while blending colors and shadings.  My goal is to be known as an artist and a premier stipplist.  I want my work to stand on its own.  Helping others with my talent is a plus and a blessing.
